Skincare myths to avoid for better skin

Have you tried just about every skincare tip in the book and still seem to have bad skin? Are you trying to clear up you skin and just don’t know how to do it effectively?

There are so many different skincare routines available online for people to adopt, and there are also a variety of different tips and beliefs that people share on the internet for others to try out. So many people who suffer from bad skin are willing to try just about anything to fix it and make it better.

The big problem with getting skincare solutions online is that a lot of the time they don’t actually work and might actually end up making your skin even worse than before. Some of the things that people say just aren’t true. Here are a few skincare myths you want to avoid if you want better skin.

Skin cream can make you look young

There are so many different products out there to claim to be something that will help your skin look young, but in actual fact, this is just not possible. There are no products available on the market that will actually reverse the aging process at all. The only claim that these antiaging creams make is that they will slow down the aging process and reduce the risk of wrinkles and fine lines at a younger age.

Everyone gets older and everyone’s skin will start to look older after time. If you want to try and slow down the process of aging skin, then you could try out an anti-aging cream, however, you best bet would just be to ensure that you have a proper and simple skincare routine, with a luxury skincare range if possible, that doesn’t damage your skin and keeps it hydrated and happy.

Bad foods cause acne

There seems to be this bad stigma around food that claims that bad for junk food gives you acne. A lot of people tend to believe this because it seems to go hand in hand with hormonal acne. The fact of the matter is, that bad foods can’t necessarily cause acne.

People believe that excessively oily foods, or bad foods such as takeout, chips, candies, and more, are all the cause of most people acne, but there is no strong evidence that points to this. While yes, an excess of oil in your diet may give you oily skin, it is not directly related to having bad or acne riddled skin.

Tanning is bad for the skin

This is a big topic of controversy because some people believe that tanning is exceptionally bad for the skin and some believe that it is actually really good for the skin. The fact here is that is it neither bad nor good and here’s why.

Tanning can cause terrible skin damage if don’t in amounts that are unhealthy or if you stay in the sun for too long, but on the other side of the spectrum, being in the sun for a bit during the day is actually really good for your skin. Not only will it h=give you a really healthy glow, but it will also allow you to get an efficient amount of vitamin D and keep your skin healthy.

Water keeps the skin hydrated

Another myth that many people tend to take to heart is that water keeps your skin hydrated. Why yes, this is true to some extent, drinking that extra bottle of water during the wont actually make you skin look any better, you’ll just end up needing the bathroom.  Unless you are actually dehydrated, there is no way that your skin will start losing hydration. You should just drink the recommended 8 glasses of water a day in order to keep your body happy and healthy, any more than this wont actually be beneficial to you.

You have to exfoliate often

When people first start getting really into skincare, one of the myths they often believe is that you should exfoliate often. While exfoliating your skin every now and then is actually incredibly beneficial for your skin and can help remove and dead skin cells and rejuvenate your skin, if you over do it, you can actually cause micros tears to appear on your skin which are prone to infection.
