From function to fashion, shoes communicate the activities and tastes of the people who wear them. Jay Gordon demonstrates the depth of information these objects can convey, pulling these compositions closer to portraiture than still life.
Celtic Celebration on St. Patrick’s Day
Tuesday, March 17, 6:30 pm–8:30 pm
Celebrate St. Patrick’s Day at the Rogue Gallery! The evening will include Irish food and beer, live Celtic music, a singing competition for the best rendition of “Danny Boy” with the winner receiving a $100 award, and the Irish tradition of good cheer and laughter. Cost is $35 per person.
Artists are invited to participate in the Celtic art exhibit. Jurors will choose a “Best in Show” $100 award winner, to be announced at the event. Attendees will vote for the “People’s Choice” $50 award winner.
Valentine Tin Hearts with Monica Camargo
Saturday February 8, 10 am-12 pm
Young artists will create a unique valentine heart inspired by Mexican tin folk art. They will learn repoussé techniques to create a variety of textures and designs, making their hearts a one of a kind valentine gift for that special someone.
