out. It was known as Arab Spring. Wars started in Syria as well as Egypt. From our

Salon Artist Andre Satie
I grew up in my dad’s sign shop in the days of hand-lettered signage, and to this day, there are
few aromas that I love more than the smell of ‘turps’. My first competition gained a First Place
in oil and a Best of Show. A few months later, a tiny 2″ silver sculpture mounted on a block of
wood took Second Place in sculpture at the Monterey Jazz Festival. Feeling validated, I took
the plunge onto the road marked Artist, and never looked back.
Today, after some 60 years of plying the brush, my happy place is still in the studio. The work of my heart has found collectors, personal and corporate, in the U.S., Canada, Mexico, Ger-
many, Norway, Costa Rica, Puerto Rico…. and who knows where else my paintings have land-
ed over time.
