One-hour tours will begin every 15 minutes between 11am and 3pm with docents costumed in Victorian fashions that would have been appropriate for typical activities in each room of the house.  Docents will share information on their particular clothing style, its evolution, and the SOHS garments being showcased.  Styles include fashions appropriate for social calls, travel, daytime activities, formal dinners, mourning, country outings, servants, undergarments, and more.  Items from the SOHS collection include not only Beekman family garments, but also selections from other…

Haunted History Walking Tour

Enjoy two very “spirited” evenings in Jacksonville on October 11 and 12 when Historic Jacksonville, Inc. offers its final Haunted History walking tours of the year.  Two different 1-hour tour routes are offered each night at 6, 6:15, 6:30, 6:45, and 7pm with alternating start times. The Courthouse route tours feature brothels, epidemics, and hangings.  The Britt Hill route tours highlight arson, saloons, and Chinatown.  Both tours include haunted houses.  Tours leave from the Jacksonville Visitors Center at the corner of N.
