The Gin Game
May 1 - May 19$20 – $36
At first glance “The Gin Game” appears to be a delightful two-person play about the power of companionship to sustain one through the physical and emotional challenges of growing old. And it indeed does that and, yet, so much more. Premiering in Los Angeles in 1976, a year later it went on to have a Broadway run starring Hume Cronyn and wife, Jessica Tandy, and has since been the play of choice among older actors. In 1978, the play also won the Pulitzer Prize for Drama. And in 2003, Dick van Dyke and Marry Tyler Moore appeared in a televised production for PBS. This production history is just a tip of the iceberg, for now here we are in 2019 at the Camelot Theatre giving The Gin Game yet one more revival.
