Windows in Time Presents “State of Jefferson 1920s Auto Tour”

Klamath County Museum manager Todd Kepple will
present the lecture “State of Jefferson 1920s Auto Tour” on Wednesday, July 11 at the at the Ashland Library, 410 Siskiyou Boulevard and Wednesday, July 18 at the Medford Library, 205 South Central Avenue, from 12 noon – 1:00 p.m. at both locations.

Kepple will narrate a presentation of panoramic photos taken in the 1920s by Medford photographer Burhl Harwood. The collection of photos includes scenes from numerous sites
around the mythical state of Jefferson. Harwood’s photos captured changes in the region at a time when automobile travel was rapidly becoming popular and industry was booming.

Kepple has been manager of the Klamath County Museum for the past 12 years. He has served for three years on the Oregon Heritage Commission.

The monthly “Windows in Time” lunchtime lectures are offered free to the public on the first and second Wednesday throughout the year from 12 noon – 1:00 p.m. The talks are jointly sponsored by the Southern Oregon Historical Society and Jackson County Library Services.
