Teen Workshop: The Writing Process with Amira Makansi

Saturday, November 9 — 1:00–3:00 p.m.

In honor of National Novel Writing Month, Amira Makansi, a co-author of the young adult dystopian SEEDS trilogy, will share the secrets of her success in this writing workshop. Brainstorm ideas for your own novel with Amira and work through your writing struggles with her tips and tricks.

Amira wrote the SEEDS trilogy alongside her mother and sister; the first book of the series, The Sowing, has been optioned for a Hollywood production. Amira has also recently published an adult non-fiction book.

Nocturnal Animals, 3-5 YRS

The Bounty of the Land: Southern Oregon Agriculture, 1850-1920

Regional historian Larry Mullaly explores the geographic and economic conditions that enabled Southern Oregon farming to thrive, and contrasts the culture of the Valley’s older ranching and mixed-use farms with the orchard industry.
